This past summer, I interned at Asmara Group as an Outdoor Apparel Design Intern. Asmara operates across major global manufacturing hubs and supports brands with design, product development, and factory sourcing through an extensive network of vendor relationships. They have offices in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and more—my internship was based in Vietnam, where the majority of their outdoor product development happens.

 

During my time there, I visited multiple factories, gained a deeper understanding of how products are made and mass produced, and saw the full process from concept through manufacturing. I worked on product design for Bass Pro Shops’ private label and contributed to projects for other brands such as Vineyard Vines, Academy, and others.
